Basement Solutions, LLC of New Milford, Connecticut
Basement Solutions, LLC went for a bold new look when we updated their website. Their existing website had been
updated several times and it was time to take the bull by the horns and redesign this New Milford waterproofing
company's website. Using soothing blues to compliment the water theme of the website, we cleaned up some of
their images and not only updated the overall look of the website, but we optimized the text as well.
Combining a list of relevant keywords that we developed with the client with towns within their business area,
we were able to optimize this website for higher search engine visibility. Before we start a project like this,
we determine the current ranking for the website using the keywords targeted. The client is delivered a
spreadsheet which shows how each page of the website ranked within the first 50 returned results of Google and
Yahoo for each keyword phrase (ex. waterproof your basement in New Milford).
Once the optimization has been completed and posted to the website, we create a new XML sitemap for the search
engines to ensure that the site is crawled quickly and accurately. After 60 to 90 days, enough time for the
website to be crawled and re-indexed, we reexamine the website's ranking and deliver to the client before and
after spreadsheets which conclusively measure the effectiveness of the Search Engine Optimization.
Home Buffet Restaurant in New Milford, Connecticut
We wanted the website for this Chinese/American buffet to look exotic and authentically Chinese as possible.
Using a red and gold motif, we designed an attractive website whose "glitz" doesn't get in the way of presenting
the business product, food, in the best light possible.
We seasoned this website with large, well lit photographs of their many dishes and tried to keep the overall
look and feel of the website as much like a chinese takeout menu as possible. There are several slideshows on
this website that transition between the various dishes, allowing us to present many large photographs in a
limited space.
Lion's Den not only took all the photography for this website, but we also researched the chinese characters in
border of the pages and provided roll over translations for each group of characters. Nothing is too good for
our customers!
The Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce - New Milford, Connecticut
This project was a complete redesign of an older, flat design. While we wanted the site to be crisp and clean
to reflect the business nature of the chamber, we also wanted to give it some depth and pop too. Therefore, we
used the same beveled center content area that we used for Basement Solutions but made the website very lively
and interactive with a quick, small slideshow and a scrolling Upcoming Events display meant to resemble a display
fixture you might see at a town hall.
The real key to this site is the ease of site maintenance. Using a proprietary Content Management System that
we developed, much of the site can be updated and maintained by anyone possessing the skill to send an email
with an attachment. No special software is required beyond a standard web browser and the site can be updated
from the office, from home or from a laptop in a motel room with the same level of ease.
For example, chamber of commerce websites often have extensive directories of members, often broken down by
business category. Usually, adding, removing or modifying a member or business category would require the
expertise of a web designer and results in frequent maintenance invoices for the chamber. But with our
Content Management System, information for members is entered using a simple, easy to use web form. Once all
the information is entered, the website automatically rewrites itself and all the new member information is
incorporated into the new member directory.
Features like these make keeping the New Milford Chamber's website up to date so easy even an adult can do it!
